Srī Mahāvārāhī Mantra ( महावाराही मन्त्र )
1. Viniyogaḥ ( विनियोगः ) :-
asya śrī mahāvārāhī mantrasya । dakṣiṇāmūrti ṛṣiḥ gāyatrī
chandaḥ । śrī vārāhī devatā । mama sarvābhīṣṭa siddhaye jape viniyogaḥ ॥
अस्य श्री महावाराही मन्त्रस्य । दक्षिणामूर्ति ऋषिः । गायत्री छन्दः । श्री वाराही देवता ।
मम सर्वाभीष्ट सिद्धये जपे विनियोगः ॥
2. ṛṣyādi nyāsa ( ऋष्यादि न्यास ) :-
1 dakṣiṇāmūrti ṛṣaye namaḥ śirasi दक्षिणामूर्ति ऋषये नमः शिरसि (open the right palm and touch the top of the
forehead with the ring and thumb fingers joined at the top.)
2 gāyatrī chandase namaḥ mukhe गायत्री छन्दसे नमः मुखे (Now
touch the mouth at the lips with the above mudrā.)
3 śrī vārāhī devatāyai namaḥ hṛdi श्री वाराही देवतायै नमः हृदि (Touch
the heart with the right palm.)
4 oṃ viniyogāya namaḥ sarvāṅge ॐ विनियोगाय नमः सर्वाङ्गे (Run both the palms all over the body.)
3. Kara nyāsa ( कर न्यास ) :-
1 oṃ vārtāli vārtāli aṅguṣṭhābhyaṃ namaḥ ॐ वार्तालि वार्तालि अङ्गुष्ठाभ्यं नमः (Use both the index fingers and run them on
both the thumbs.)
2 oṃ vārāhi vārāhi tarjanībhyāṃ namaḥ ॐ वाराहि वाराहि तर्जनीभ्यां नमः (Use both the thumbs and run them on
both the index fingers.)
3 oṃ varāhamukhi varāhamukhi madhyamābhyāṃ
namaḥ ॐ वराहमुखि वराहमुखि मध्यमाभ्यां नमः( Use both the thumbs on the middle
fingers.)
4 oṃ andhe andhini anāmikābhyāṃ namaḥ ॐ अन्धे अन्धिनि अनामिकाभ्यां नमः (Use both the thumbs on the ring fingers.)
5 oṃ rundhe rundhini kaniṣṭikhābhyāṃ namaḥ ॐ रुन्धे रुन्धिनि कनिष्टिखाभ्यां नमः (Use both the thumbs on the little
fingers.)
6 oṃ jambhe jambhini karatalakara
pṛṣṭhābhyāṃ namaḥ ॐ जम्भे जम्भिनि करतलकर पृष्ठाभ्यां नमः (Open both the palms; run the opened palms of
the right hand on the front and back sides of the left palm and repeat the same
for the other palm.)
4. ṣaḍaṅga nyāsa ( षडङ्ग न्यास ) :-
1 oṃ vārtāli vārtāli
hṛdayāya namaḥ
ॐ वार्तालि वार्तालि हृदयाय नमः ( Open index, middle and ring fingers of
the right hand and place them on the heart chakra.)
2 oṃ vārāhi vārāhi śirase
svāhā ॐ वाराहि वाराहि शिरसे स्वाहा (Open
middle and ring fingers of the right hand and touch the top of the forehead.)
3 oṃ varāhamukhi
varāhamukhi śikhāyai vaṣaṭ ॐ वराहमुखि वराहमुखि शिखायै वषट् (Open the right thumb and touch the back of
the head. This is the point where the tuft of hair, is kept.)
4 oṃ andhe andhini
kavacāya huṃ ॐ अन्धे अन्धिनि कवचाय हुं (Cross both the hands and run the fully
opened palms from shoulders to finger tips.)
5 oṃ rundhe rundhini
netratrayāya vauṣaṭ ॐ रुन्धे रुन्धिनि नेत्रत्रयाय वौषट् (Touch the eyes with the right index and ring
fingers, with the middle finger touching the ājña cakra.)
6 oṃ jambhe jambhini
astrāya phaṭ ॐ जम्भे जम्भिनि अस्त्राय फट् (Open up the left palm and strike it three
times with index and middle fingers of the right hand.)
bhūrbhuvassuvaromiti digbandhaḥ ॥
भूर्भुवस्सुवरोमिति दिग्बन्धः॥
5. Dhyānam ( ध्यानम् ) :-
pratyagraruṇasaṅkāśaṃ
padyāntargatavāsinīm ।indranīlamahātejaḥ prakāśāṃ viśvamātaram ॥
ruṇḍaṃ ca
muṇḍamālāḍyāṃ navaratnavibhūṣitām ।anarghyaratnaghaṭitamukuṭaśrīvirājitām
॥
kauśeyārdhorukāṃ
cārupravālamaṇibhūṣitām ।halena musalenāpi varadenābhayena ca ॥
virājitacaturbāhuṃ kapilākṣīṃ
sumadhyamām ।nitambinīmutpalābhāṃ kaṭhoraghanasatkṛcām ॥ kolānanāṃ yajed devīmupacāraiḥ
sahetubhiḥ ॥
प्रत्यग्ररुणसङ्काशं पद्यान्तर्गतवासिनीम् ।इन्द्रनीलमहातेजः प्रकाशां विश्वमातरम् ॥ रुण्डं च मुण्डमालाड्यां नवरत्नविभूषिताम् ।अनर्घ्यरत्नघटितमुकुटश्रीविराजिताम् ॥कौशेयार्धोरुकां चारुप्रवालमणिभूषिताम् ।हलेन मुसलेनापि वरदेनाभयेन च ॥ विराजितचतुर्बाहुं कपिलाक्षीं सुमध्यमाम् । नितम्बिनीमुत्पलाभां कठोरघनसत्कृचाम् ॥कोलाननां यजेद् देवीमुपचारैः सहेतुभिः ॥
Meaning:- I bow down to the three eyed and boar faced
(Varāha) Vārāhī, who is clad in a silken gown, seated on a corpse over the
pericarp of a red lotus, resplendent with ornaments all over Her body, shapely
eyes and coral earrings and whose chest is resplendent with a garland of skulls
(representing the Sanskrit alphabet, all sounds, all gods and goddesses and the
entire creation), whose complexion is like a blue sapphire, holding a pestle, a
plough, abhaya and varada mudras and a well-endowed beautiful body and a crown
with the most precious ornaments shining forth. She is the Divine Mother who is
respected as the vanquisher of all evil, internal and external.
6. Mantra ( मन्त्र ) :- The
114 lettered mantra is –

namo bhagavati vārtāli vārtāli vārāhi vārāhi varāhamukhi varāhamukhi andhe
andhini namaḥ rundhe rundhini namaḥ jambhe jambhini namaḥ mohe mohini namaḥ
stambhe stambhini namaḥ sarva duṣṭa praduṣṭānāṃ sarveṣāṃ sarva vāk citta cakṣur
mukhagati jihvā stambhaṃ kuru kuru śīghraṃ vaśyaṃ kuru kuru aim̐ glaum̐ ṭhaḥ
ṭhaḥ ṭhaḥ ṭhaḥ hum̐ phaṭ svāhā ॥
ऐँ ग्लौँ ऐँ नमो भगवति वार्तालि वार्तालि वाराहि वाराहि वराहमुखि वराहमुखि अन्धे अन्धिनि नमः रुन्धे रुन्धिनि नमः जम्भे जम्भिनि नमः मोहे मोहिनि नमः स्तम्भे स्तम्भिनि नमः सर्व दुष्ट प्रदुष्टानां सर्वेषां सर्व वाक् चित्त चक्षुर् मुखगति जिह्वा स्तम्भं कुरु कुरु शीघ्रं वश्यं कुरु कुरु ऐँ ग्लौँ ठः ठः ठः ठः हुँ फट् स्वाहा ॥
Mantra 2
oṃ vārāhi! sarvato mām rakṣa rakṣa durge huṃ phaṭ svāhā
ॐ वाराही! सर्वतो माम् रक्ष रक्ष दुर्गे हुं फट् स्वाहा
7. Samarpaṇam ( समर्पणम् ) :-
गुह्यातिगुह्यगोप्त्री त्वं गृहाणास्मात्कृतं जपम्।
सिद्धिर्भवतु मे देवि त्वत्प्रसादान्मयि स्तिरा॥
guhyātiguhyagoptrī tvaṁ gṛhāṇāsmat-kṛtaṁ japam।
siddhirbhavatu me devi tvatprasādānmayi sthirā ॥
